Sharing the Experience

I have a cousin, Lynsey, on my Dad's side who is pregnant with her first baby and due just 2 weeks before me. She gave me a call the other day and we had a fun time talking about being pregnant and comparing the experience. It was a lot of fun to talk about the changes that we are both experiencing physically and the anticipation. I feel very fortunate to know someone who is going through similar things at about the same time I am. Most women are fortunate to have someone they know who has been pregnant recently. but I think it is neat to know someone else who is questioning whether that little bit of pressure might have been the first time you can feel baby moving in there.

Because our due dates are so close to one another, my aunts have offered to host a baby shower for the two of us together. I think it will be a lot of fun to gather with our family and friends from our individual lives.

My one wish is that we lived closer together so that our children could grow up really knowing one another. I was close to my cousins and we weren't nearly as close in age as these two babies will be.

Oh Natalie this post made me cry. I miss you so very much and the though that is now making me laugh is the two of us singing for safety pops at the bank window. Boy do I miss you!! Love you tons!!

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
