Only Child

Image
While Sarah Graves was aways at camp, Charlie was attending a camp of his own. He went to a sports camp with his friend Harrison. They swam, played tennis, basketball, and other games like four square. Charlie seemed to like his camp, but felt like the counselors had a lot of rules that didn't make sense.  In the evenings, he seemed to enjoy his status as an only child. He had the chance to pick what we ate for dinner, who would put him to bed, and had Aaron play video games with him!  Fun to get a little extra time with this guy who is growing up so fast!

Winshape Camp

Image
Winshape is a camp affiliated with chick-fil-a. Last year, Sarah Graves' friends Lauryn and Olivia raved about their experience and Sarah Graves was very excited to try it.  When she found her friends, all the struggle of the past two days left her and she was so excited! Even more so, when she found out she and Lauryn were roommates! Kids attended a few skills classes while at camp and one of Sarah Graves' was drama and she attended sweet shoppe! Her age group took a field trip to go swimming.London was her other roommate and they seemed to get along well. Each night had a different theme with costumes and activities to make it fun! The counselors all had fun names. The counselor for Sarah Graves' "sweet" was Orbit and the leader for her age group was Starfish. All the St. B's girls at camp! She had a great week! There were a lot of rules like dress code, when you could eat, etc. She didn't seem to put of

New Shoes

Sarah Graves was home for two nights before she headed of to Winshape camp. While at Camp Mikell, her sandal broke, so we had to do some quick shopping to get some closed toe sandals she could bring to camp.  While shopping for Sissy some sandals, Charlie found these tennis shoes and fell in love! He was so excited about them that we couldn't say no! Plus, he was headed off to another sports camp where he could use them.  Sarah Graves found a pair that worked for her. Overall, our time with her was very tumultuous. There was lots of bad attitude and complaining. She was tired and struggling with leaving one camp and needing to get ready for the next. It might have been too much fun at one time. We managed our way through it.

Concert Night

Image
We had a really fun time going to see  Goo Goo Dolls and Train! We went with dad, uncle Ronnie, Chris, Lindsey, and her boyfriend Dylan.  We had great seats on the lawn and enjoyed time to hang out between sets. Both bands played all their hits and put on great shows!

Camp Mikell Fun

I think Sis enjoyed her week at Mikell! She made some new friends, experienced new things, and came home with new songs! Her favorite thing was going to the creek! She said it was cold and felt delicious! She said they swam multiple times every day to keep cool. She said this was the best s'more she ever had!  She was all smiles when Lovie and I picked her up! They were very happy to see each other!

Way 2 Play!

Image
Charlie was excited to go back to Way 2 Play Sports camp! It is run by P.E. teachers from the local elementary school and they do an excellent job! It is lots of P.E. type games along with chess, yoga, and art instructors that come in to vary it up.  We didn't know if any of his friends were signed up and much to his delight, his best friend Nico was there! That made his week to be at camp with his buddy! His favorite game to play was dodgeball!

Camp Mikell

We left the lake and headed to Toccoa, GA to bring Sarah Graves to Camp Mikell. This was her first year going to this Episcopal church camp. She was happy at drop-off even if she didn't get a top bunk (there weren't many).  Alyssa goes to her school and it was nice to see a familiar face at camp.  Sis's cabin was Claiborne and she was ready to see us off!

Lazy Summer Day

Image
We said goodbye to family as they headed back home to Baton Rouge. Then, we hit the water enjoying time on the boat.  The kids are so brave in their water sports! Charlie is aggressively tackling the board and Sissy just keeps getting stronger on the skis.  Lucy loves going on the boat! Her smile says it all! All my babies happy and loving life! After the boat, we had some fun time splashing around in the water. Aaron played a really fun and vigorous game of king of the mountain with the kids! There was a lot of laughter and splashing around as they were thrown from the paradise pad.  It was such a great day. Everyone was relaxed and ready for fun.

Family Lake Time

Image
The next day brought more family fun.  We made the flag cake that we ran out of time for on the Fourth! There was time to love on GG. and hang out with Lovie We also spent time in the water! Two rafts are a lot of fun! After dinner, we loaded up the boat and went to watch more fireworks. These were awesome to see and so was the sunset. . The laughter and sing a long in the boat was so much fun!  We came back and the kids enjoyed sparklers! We also played a spirited game of Mexican Train dominoes. It's a fun game to play as a group and we all learn a lot from Maw Maw!
