A Day of Celebration

Image
I made really yummy breakfast that included strata, coffee cake, bacon, and strawberries! I think there was something for everyone to enjoy. Sarah Graves fixed up a festive center piece with the eggs they dyed.   We decided to dress up even if we were watching church on TV.  The lake made a lovely backdrop for pictures.  Charlie was sporting his new goggles Lovie gave him.  Livy doesn't like to take pictures for me, but when Charlie has the camera, she is a little model! Lucy enjoyed hanging out with her people.  Sis wanted a photo with Ava by the water.  Lovie and the cuties! Lovie and Pops gave the kids these new outfits and they were all excited to wear them! Time for some games. Time to play with new things.  We had a really relaxed and easy day. I kind of enjoyed not having to rush to church to get a seat or rushing home to cook for everyone. We enjoyed breakfast, watched church (actually 2 services)

Easter Bunny

Sarah Graves was the first up Easter morning eager to see if the Easter Bunny came! There was some concern about whether the Easter Bunny would come because of quarantine, but he didn't disappoint! Excited to find her favorite candy! Charlie gobbled up so much candy that he had a tummy ache! Jumping for joy over a comic blender! Now we can take our four square up a notch with a new ball. We had a very pleasant time looking at their prizes and candy. They were happy with what they received and happy for what the others received.

Easter Bonfire

The weather was cool and breezy making it perfect to watch the sunset and warm up by a fire.  Aaron built us a good one that actually was hard to put out using a huge log the kids found in the woods and claimed weighed 300 pounds.  The kids enjoyed roasting marshmallows. Sarah Graves was outside, but chose not to roast one.  Soon it was time for the kids to hop off to bed to get ready for the Easter Bunny!

Easter eggs

Amidst all the concerns for the virus has been concern for our food supply. While we have had plenty, there has been a risk of supply chains breaking down leading to shortages. We debated whether it was good to dye eggs, but ultimately decided that so much is different this year and the kids should have some familiar activities.  Egg dyeing brings out their different personalities.  Charlie is patient and deliberate with his approach.  Sarah Graves gets it down a little quicker but still likes to take her time.  Livy goes all in and puts as many eggs as she can in to the dye to get it done! Our crazy exploding boiled egg. No matter how they did it, they all had fun doing it!

Hanging Out

We were happy to all be together! The decision to spend Easter together wasn't one taken lightly. We have all been staying home, avoiding going to stores, and doing our best to stay healthy. Fortunately, we all have jobs that can be done at home, so we are able to stay in a bubble during this crazy time.  A craft idea Nay and Livy tried where you write your name and cut it out with the paper folded in half to make an interesting shape, then decorate it how you like.  Sis made pumpkin bread for breakfast. Happy together. Charlie taught Lovie about Minecraft. Sissy worked on dessert for Easter. She saw a vide for a cake that she wanted to replicate, but soon realized those are never as easy as they seem.  Silliness!
