Sweet Girl

Lucky for SG, the day after our big night out was an easy one, a field trip to the aquarium!  It was also my birthday and she wanted me to wear the birthday crown! I had a nice birthday spent with people I love.

Date with a Sweetheart

Sarah Graves and I had a last minute opportunity to see Beauty and the Beast at the Fox. I was super-excited to take her to see a broadway style show!  We rushed down there on a Wednesday night and were excited to get to our seats with a few minutes to spare! She enjoyed the show and I really enjoyed it as the stage production is different than the movie or the shows we saw at Disney. It was a late night for her, but we had a good time!

Mardi Gras!

Image
I am always homesick during Mardi Gras, but we do our best to have a little celebration. This year, we went to Cheesecake Factory for a yummy dinner! Sometimes we have avoided going to Cheesecake with the kids because the service can be slow, but on this particular night, they were a delight to dine with! Sarah Graves was so cute giving Charlie instruction on using his manners and she was in awe of the interior with its tall columns and cool design! Happy Mardi Gras! Ash Wednesday was not so happy for Charlie. He started running a fever and felt rotten the next day. He laid on the sofa and was pitiful. Sarah Graves was very excited that Lovie came to chapel with her to get ashes! It is so nice that chapel is open to parents and grandparents to join.

Tid Bits

My sweet boy hated going to swim lessons for a while and just didn't want to do it. Then, something changed, I told him he could quit, and he moved up to the next level. He still wanted to quit, but  Charlie loves to stack these pillows and get them just so around the edge of the couch. Then, he pretends it's his bed. He works and works to get it just right, then delights in his work! Two cuties in a sleeping bag! They were proud that both of them were inside it. Charlie was asked to decorate a heart and come up with an act of kindness that he could do at school in honor of the 100th day of preschool! He was quite proud of his heart decorated with Spiderman stickers!

Dinner Fun

Image
While Dad and Aaron were out of town for the weekend all us girls and Charlie enjoyed dinner out. It was actually a pleasant meal and I think everyone really enjoyed their food.  My little monkey enjoying an orange. Sissy was very excited to take her new doll, Lea, out with us. These cousins love each other - sometimes it may be too much love!

American Girl

Image
Sarah Graves is so in love with all things American Girl! For her birthday, Lovie offered to take her to the AG store to have lunch and have Grace's hair fixed! Aaron was gone to Shreveport for the weekend to spend time with his grandfather, so Charlie and I tagged along! They were so excited to go! They had to pose with the new girl of the year, Lea Clark. Ready for their lunch! Grace was all set for her new do! Charlie wanted Max to have his hair trimmed! SG and Grace with Grace's newly done fishtail braid. She was feeling quite grownup! While Lovie and Sissy spent some time together in the AG store, Charlie and I went out in the mall to shop for new shoes and have a little fun!

Family Dinner

We had an impromptu family dinner at Taco Mac!

Nothing in your nose!

Image
The day after Sarah Graves' party we were all tired and ready to relax. Sarah Graves had lots of new toys and wanted to spend her time checking them out. Charlie got a little jealous of her paying more attention to toys than she was to him, so he pulled a container of perler beads off the table! She ran off crying about what he did and Aaron and I started trying to clean up the little beads that went EVERYWHERE! While we were cleaning up, Charlie started complaining that something was in his nose. He got a stool and checked it in the mirror, but couldn't determine the problem. He was getting more vocal about it and worrying more, so Aaron grabbed a flashlight and took a look. He saw one of the tiny beads in Char's nose. It was visible and he thought he could grab it with a pair of tweezers. Charlie freaked out when Aaron went near his nose with the tweezers and ended up sucking it up further. We called Lovie to come take a look and see what she thought, but by then you cou

100th Day of Kindergarten

Image
For the 100th day of kindergarten the kids dressed up like 100 year old people! So cute to see their takes on looking like an old person! Sarah Graves did not want to do it and felt embarrassed until she got to school and realized that I wasn't crazy and her friends were really into it! The first of many times she will have to learn that Momma does know what she's talking about and I'm always right! Ha! Here she is with her friends Anna Grace and Caroline. Her friend Mallory did not want to do it at all! She wanted to wear skeleton pajamas since so many 100 year olds are dead!

Pre Party

Image
Before all the girls arrived for SG's birthday party, we practiced with our photo setup! Lovie hopped in with Sissy and a few of her friends! Nay and Livy were ready for their photo (Sissy was trying out a serious look!) I grabbed the chance to get a photo with my girl and her model face. Lovie and the kids being silly. Charlie jumped in for a photo with Nay before he headed out with Lovie and Pops for a birthday party with his friend and a sleepover at Lovie and Pops' house! He felt very big boy and was so excited to go!

Partying with her friends!

Image
I can't believe that this pretty girl is already six! She was so pumped for her party! We had a snow shower that morning and she was worried we would have to cancel, but the sun came out and all was well! Pizza is the typical choice for sleepovers, but Sissy prefers pasta, so we did a pasta bar. The girls could choose from tomato sauce, alfredo sauce, meatballs, and garlic toast. I think everyone found something they liked. We set up a photo area with props and Aaron connected his phone to the apple TV so the girls could watch their photos on the TV! It was a lot of fun and they enjoyed checking themselves out! She has a sweet group of friends! Sarah Graves was really excited for painting nails at her party! We picked out some fun colors and let the girls choose. Thank goodness for Aunt Nay helping out with this part! Sarah Graves was the first to fall asleep about 11 o'clock. My sweet girl likes her sleep! It took m
