Halloween

Image
Halloween was a little different this year. Charlie and I came down with a respiratory infection that almost kept us both from being able to have any fun! Trunk or treat at church and ourw was a Toy Story trunk! So many little kids were excited to see Woody and Buzz! Sis enjoyed helping with the youth trunk, a pajama party theme! Charlie stayed home feeling yuck.  Sis went trick or treating with friends and they dressed as Spice Girls! She had a blast with this sweet group of friends! Where's Waldo! Fun day dressing up at the office. A lot of Waldos headed to a fund Halloween HR meeeting.  Charlie rallied just in time to enjoy trick-or-treating.  We stopped by Lovie and Pops' so they could see him off.  Fun time trick-or-treating with Ziggy and Eli and some of Ziggys neighbors.  Not our busiest Halloween but grateful we could enjoy the day and dress up!

Charlie Snippets

Here are some fun snippets of Charlie. Post sleepover breakfast al fresco! Made his own fried rice (and loved it!) Hanging with his bestie! When Sissy has early morning activities on Wednesday, we get a breakfast date together! Love the chance to sit with him one-on-one and hear about sixth grade.  School canceled for hurricane Helene and Charlie took the time to bake a skillet cookie! Warm and gooey like at Chili's! At Epiphany, Aaron gave the four of us tickets to see Hootie and the Blowfish. Unfortunately, Sarah Graves had a game to play at so she wasn't able to go. Instead, Charlie brought Ziggy and we had a great time! It was intensely hot until the sun went down! These guys enjoyed walking around and getting all the freebies from concert sponsors! Edwin McCain opened and he was great - very humble and funny! Collective Soul also played and who knew they were from the Atlanta area and I knew more of their songs than I remembered! It was a fun night! Not sure we convinced t...

Iron Birds

Image
Charlie played for the Iron Birds in Majors this fall. The Iron Birds are a real minor league team in Maryland. It was Coach Andrew's team and Charlie likes him as a coach.  Even with a good coach, this was a tough season. Charlie couldn't find his groove for pitching or batting. Definitely hard to go through, but there is a lot to.be learned in losing.  His biggest fans! His season wasn't going so well, especially batting, so he decided this new bat might do the trick.  At a game in October, he was giving it his all in the outfield and then he horribly was hit in the face with the ball. It happened so quick. He was running to get the ball and lost it in the lights. His team was very kind to him. Immediately it was swelling and he started to worry about kids judging him as a poor ballplayer for making that error. I felt terrible for him. His face hurt and his pride was so wounded.  The next morning he could barely open his eye it was so swollen. Thankfully, he had on...

Cross Country

Image
Charlie dove into school activities and started running cross country. He really liked Coach Lyndy and her son, Anderson was very nice. He did miss Coach Goodwin and Coach P.J. with a smaller team at St. B's.  Their first meet was hosted at Whitefield and it was HOT! Fun to attend a meet hosted at our school! He worked hard over the season and cut his time some, but was disappointed he didn't make top 7 boys to go to the championship meet.  One of the best parts about playing a sport is getting new spirit wear! They can wear any hoodie except on chapel day and on Fridays they wear spirit shirts, so yay for more1
