Baby Sprinkle

Image
I have some really sweet co-workers who got together and gave us a Baby Sprinkle on Friday afternoon.  I had never heard of a sprinkle before, but it is a small shower for a mom who has already had one or more babies and only needs small things like clothes.  My co-workers gave us a shower for Sarah Graves and I felt bad to have another full out shower, but a sprinkle seemed like a nice way to celebrate Chubby's much anticipated arrival!  Ms. Algia just adores Sarah Graves and was a big part of putting this sprinkle together.  Sarah Graves refers to her as Ms. Gia.  They played the game where everyone takes a piece of string and tries to guess how much is needed to go around me.  My director, Joe, came the closest because he made his very short and was the only one who didn't go over!  Here are some of the members of my team, the Organizational Effectiveness team.    Sarah Graves was just precious throughout the eve...

More Shower Gifts

At the shower we received several very special gifts that will be used for the christeining.  These will also be special keepsakes once Sarah Graves gets older.  They are so sweet and so thoughtful that I thought they needed their own post. My Maw-Maw Yvonne picked out this sweet, little bracelet for her.  It has her initials engraved on the inside and it is just adorable.  What girl doesn't need some jewelry? Aaron's Mom sent this very sweet gift to the shower. It's a little gold ring with a heart on it for Sarah to wear as a baby. It is so sweet and simple. I know that she will treasure it long after her little finger outgrows it. When my Dad was born, an aunt made a christening gown for him.  The gown is beautiful with French hand sewing and all the children in the family wore it up until my youngest cousin was christened.  When my cousins started having their children, my grandmother started the tradition of letting each one pick out a christ...

Baby Shower

The shower in Baton Rouge was a lot of fun.  My Dad's sisters and my cousins on that side got together to give me and my cousin Lynsey a huge shower.  We estimate there were about 100 people there between the two of us.  First, the food.  My cousin Eric made gumbo and he also made sushi, something he has become known for.  We also had sandwiches and dips and fruit and veggie trays as well as some cupcakes that were super yum!  My Aunt Linda made these scratch offs as a game that everyone enjoyed! The card had a bottle on it and if you scratched yours and you got milk, you won!  My cousin Andrea made little favors that had chocolate covered pretzels and were just too cute.  Because the shower was for me and Lynsey, my stuff was in pink because we're having a girl and her stuff was all in green because they are choosing to be surprised.   Jeanne' acted as the photographer for the event, so I have a ton of pictures.  Although, we did...

Home Alone

No, it's not the movie from the nineties with that Culkin kid... way before he got busted for pot! But I did splash aftershave on my face this morning. Since Nat is in BR this weekend attending a baby shower for her cousin and her, I thought I'd better write so our followers don't start wondering what's goin' on. Saturday morning, we're still in one piece here at the house... Lucy has been bathed (evidently she feels this to be a betrayal), I've made a grocery list, and I just have to be here this afternoon for the heating/air guy to perform our annual (or is it biannual?) maintenance. I'll probably try to run to Publix for some previsions before he gets here. I wanted to give Lucy a walk this morning, but it looks like that storm that whacked Shreveport has finally arrived in the ATL. As long as the Direct-TV doesn't go out, Lucy and I will be just fine here at home... alone. Maybe I'll order pizza... Blue Moon Meateor, YUM! I almost forgo...
