Happy Birthday, Charlie

Image
Feels hard to believe that this precious baby boy has transformed before my eyes into a beautiful child. He has a fun side, is sensitive, likes to talk, loves games, and surprises me with all he knows! The birthday boy wished for Chick-fil-A for breakfast! Our elves flew in on broomsticks for Charlie's big day! I think they were trying to play Quidditch in the kitchen! On their birthday kids get a free dress day. I was sure Charlie would want a t-shirt, but he surprised me and wanted to dress up in his bowtie! I think he knew it would get lots of compliments! The elves brought some other Harry Potter decorations like this sign for platform 9 3/4. He had fun running at the closet door and either pretending the platform was closed or quickly opening the door and pretending he slipped through! Moaning Myrtle in the toilet tickled him the most! He remembers the stories so well and knew exactly who it was! Parents are invited to join for lunch a

Chapel Time

I will admit that I love the chapel uniform. I think they look so cute in it! His tie is so adorable on him! Love her in these knee socks! For the first chapel, both daddy and lovie were able to be there. I think they all enjoyed hearing Chaplain Porter Cade welcome the kids back and perform mass for the elementary kiddos. It makes me think about attending chaplain when I was in school. There's something neat about being in church with your friends and the more relaxed approach to Eucharist.

He Rocked It!

Charlie rocked his first week of kindergarten and has the hat to prove it! His teacher sent the kindest email and said, "He is such a great kid! He participates in class and always has a smile on his face. :) We talked this week about class rules and procedures and he has been eager and quick to cooperate. We appreciate his sweet demeanor." That makes my momma heart so proud! He has been getting lots of super sticks for making good choices and today got a special shout out for explaining the assignment to a classmate who didn't understand and didn't know what to do. So proud of this boy!

Great Wolf Lodge

With a Great Wolf Lodge now open just outside Atlanta, Charlie's birthday was the perfect time to visit! He brought his best buddy, Miles, to spend the weekend and help celebrate his birthday! The kids enjoyed breakfast at Chick-fil-A before we headed out of town. I miss the days when it was called Chick-uh-lay! We picked up Miles and they were so excited! A car full of excitement! When we went to our room there were birthday surprises for Charlie! A coupon for a scoop of ice cream, balloons, and birthday cards! Look at these excited boys proudly showing their magiquest wands! Miles brought Charlie some cool birthday presents like this Lego set. Off to the water park for more fun! The lazy river was by far their favorite part! I think they loved the freedom of floating along and often getting swept ahead of me and Aaron! After water fun, we came back to the room to enjoy the yummy cookie cake that the kids and I made. Sooo good

First Day of School

Image
Just like that, summer came to an end and it was time for Sarah Graves to head to third grade and Charlie to start kindergarten! They were both excited. Charlie was really pumped until the morning of when he got a little nervous. Once I explained that we would walk him to his classroom, he was good to go and ready to take on the day! Backpacks and lunch boxes ready to go! Sarah Graves was really excited to have a rolling backpack and Charlie was very pleased with his Harry Potter themed things! Charlie is in Ms. Freeman's class and she is wonderful! Charlie is excited to have drama, art, sacred stories, and P.E. this year! He is also liking the idea of eating lunch in the parish hall. Sarah Graves is in Ms. Blair's class and says she really likes her a lot but she is strict!  Sarah Graves is very excited to learn cursive this year; that they have sketch pads to use when they have free time; and they have a classroom economy with wallets to k
