Chuck E Cheese Party Fun

Image
We celebrated their sweet friend Greg's fifth birthday!  Greg's party was at Chuck E. Cheese and Sarah Graves was so excited to go!  Charlie hadn't really been to a birthday like this before and slept through part of it, but when he woke up, he was ready for action!   The birthday boy and his dad had a chance to grab tickets! These two are such sweet friends!    The kids had a blast and can't wait to go back!

Garden Fun!

Grancy and Gramma made a trip to the beach and made a detour on their way back to spend a day with the kiddos.  They came in Saturday night and we picked up barbecue to eat dinner with Lovie and Pops.  SG really enjoyed having her Lovie and her Grancy together with her! Sunday morning we headed out for breakfast at SG's favorite spot, First Watch!   Gramma and Charlie had fun together.  She taught him to say, "Gramma Gramma!" when she asked, "What does the fox say?"  It really was too cute and I'm sorry I didn't catch it on video.   SG kept Grancy busy down at her end of the table.  She and Grancy had an inside joke going about some character Bob Borg that they made up.  Sarah Graves goes into a fit of laughter just saying that name!    Grancy was SG's riding buddy in the car and they had fun cutting up in the back together.   The day was gorgeous so we headed to the Botanical Gardens.  The good weather brought out a big

Backyard Fun!

One of Sissy's frequent requests has been putting the hose on the slide to make a water slide.  I had said it was too cold, but we finally had a Saturday in mid-October where the weather was quite warm in the upper 80's and she talked me into it!   Charlie really like it, too! Sissy love it, but doesn't like grass on her feet!  She doesn't mind it so much that it stopped her, though.

Funny Four-Year Old

Image
Four is really a delightful age. She understands so much and most of the time is eager to try new things and learn about new things.  She is also really aware of what her friends do and say and picks up new things from them. I think that is where these funny faces came from! She also has a great fondness for her Daddy.  He has waited a long time for her to want him the same way she wanted Momma. Glad for them to have each other and this sweet time.

Happy Fall, Y'all!

I decorated the house for fall and the kids were so excited to take pictures with the pumpkins!

Aaron went away for the weekend recently to go to a friend's wedding.  The kids missed him A LOT and there were lots of requests for Daddy to come back, but we had some fun too.  They got an early start Saturday morning and our fun included painting, building with blocks, making a full pancake breakfast, and playing outside all before 9 AM!   Later in the evening, Lovie and Pops had us over for dinner before the LSU game.  SG was "reading" to her brother - so sweet! Aaron came back that Sunday and Charlie was so excited running into his arms saying, "Daddy, you came back!"  So sweet how much they like us all being together.

Lucy Love

Image
Lucy definitely does not get the attention she wants, but sometimes the kids go out of their way to love on her and make her feel special.  Sarah Graves has not been her biggest fan and does not like to be licked or sniffed, so this kind of attention is pretty special.

Happy Birthday, Lovie!

Image
We had a low key celebration for Lovie's birthday with dinner out and a homemade birthday cake.  The kids were very excited to sing Happy Birthday to her and of course, they were very much into the cake!  SG was eager for a picture with Lovie.

Bathing Two Clowns

These two have bath paints and got the biggest kick out of painting their faces.  They thought they looked like clowns and giggle, giggled about it!

Sesame Street Live!

Image
For Charlie's birthday we purchased tickets to see Elmo at Sesame Street Live!  It has been two years almost to the day since we took Sarah Graves to see Sesame Street Live.  My how they have changed!  Can't believe that tiny newborn has grown into a handsome two year old just bursting with life.  Her love for her brother has not changed one bit.  She just adores him.   We drove up to Greenville, SC for the show and it wasn't a bad drive.  We left right after breakfast and got there with plenty of time to grab a quick lunch before getting to the arena.  Cotton candy was a must have for both of them!  We had plenty of time to take in all the details of the vendors and the messaging that happens before the show.  The show was during nap time, but he stayed awake and seemed to enjoy it mostly.  There were lots of toddlers experiencing meltdowns in there, so they could be a little rowdy and no one noticed!   Everybody wanted to be on momma's lap!
