Chatter Box

SG is talking so so much these days and she is able to have conversation. She gets shy when I bring out the camera so I can't capture it live. I want to remember some of her cute ways. Instead of tomorrow, she says tomano. When she talks about the fish Nemo, she calls it Meno! She calls her pjs, pgs. Up means the opposite of where she is. If you're holding her, up means get down and if she is standing, it means pick her up. She also does the same thing with upstairs.

Momma is on the Road

I almost never travel for work, but I have led a big project to implement all new testing to hire for our call center positions and they are holding a huge hiring event this week, so it is a chance to see my work in action. The event is in Ogden, Utah about 40 minutes outside of Salt Lake City. I guess it doesn't make sense to put a call center in a glamorous city! Mom offered to be my travel buddy and I couldn't be more grateful! I don't know anyone else very well and there was some confusion about what was happening when, so today has a lot of down time. I won't be back until Sunday, so this is by far the longest I have been away from SG. That's the really tough part. She is old enough to understand that I have to go bye bye, but she doesn't understand that I will be back on Sunday. The whole time I packed she was telling me bye and giving me hugs! I know Aaron will have a great time with her, but I miss being with her. It takes all of my courage to

Sick Sweetie

We had a great holiday weekend and I have lots of pictures to post from that. Tuesday morning, I woke SG for school to find she was warm and quite listless. The child who doesn't slow down or stop jumping wanted me to hold her and was content to lay on me for about 30 or 40 minutes before I just couldn't carry her anymore. I called Lovie and she came to our rescue so that I could go into work. SG's fever went a little higher and just after lunch we were headed to the pediatrician. SG had laid in bed watching TV and sleeping most of the morning and add a fever and I felt we had to get her seen just to be sure, especially with me headed out of town for work. They tested her for strep, but that was negative, so it was likely she had a virus. The pediatrician immediately chalked it up to having recently started daycare. Yay! I called our chiropractor, Dr. Laura, and made plans to get her in that evening. She adjusted SG and told us about a an elderberry extract suppl

Belly Shot!

Image
Here is the Baby Center description of 29 weeks: Your baby is growing rapidly now. This week he weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is getting bigger to accommodate his growing brain – which is busy developing billions of neurons. Every day, about 200 milligrams of calcium is deposited in your baby's skeleton, which is now hardening. With this rapid growth, it's no surprise that your baby's nutritional needs reach their peak during this trimester.

Belly Shot!

These belly shots are a tad out of order because this is 27 weeks and I already posted 28 weeks last week.  Anyway, it was so hectic getting down to the beach that I never got a belly shot, so finally we did one on the beach! This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds ( like a head of cauliflower ) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.

Last Beach

Image
We spent one last morning at the beach before we had to head home.  We woke up early and headed down to soak up a little more sand. This sweet girl has really fallen in love with her daddy.  It is precious to watch! We were sad to leave the beach, but it helps knowing that we will be back.  We have plans to come back in September after Chubby arrives.

Beach Day 4

Image
We spent our last fully day at the beach much like the others.  That afternoon while SG slept, Mom and I went and did some shopping at the outlets.  We mostly looked at things for the kids.  I was intending to buy mostly for Chubby, but there is so much cute girl stuff that I found some things for SG, too! When we came back, we took SG out for some pretty girl pictures on the beach.  I am so in love with this kid and you can tell by the fact that I could only narrow it down to these pictures! While we took pictures, Pops and Daddy were making a yummy dinner to eat outside!  She loves to eat outside! After dinner, she sat in Lovie's lap and cuddled with her a while.  That is a rarity for SG to sit for long, so you have to soak it up when it happens!

Beach Day 3

Image
On our third day Grandaddy and Me Me had to leave to go home.  We had a lazy morning with breakfast and lots of sticker fun!  Me Me was covered with stickers from SG!  After we said goodbye, we hit the beach again.   We have heard that some children like to take naps on the beach, so we got our princess all set up for a snooze, but she was too excited. Even Baby Kate made it out to the beach! She was so delighted with herself that she found a tiny sand crab.  She proudly showed it off to everyone. She found some bubbles and had so much fun trying to make bubbles. We went out swimming and she had a great time playing in the waves!  Pops and Lovie showed her how to get on the boogie board and bounce on the waves. Of course, the pool was a hit too.  She had a good time jumping off the side and didn't mind her face getting wet.

Beach Day 2 - Evening

Image
After a full day at the beach, a nap, and everyone cleaning up, we were ready to go to dinner.  We made a quick trek to the beach for some photos.   This is Sarah Graves with her "camera".  She uses it at Lovie and Pops' house to take pictures and they brought it to the beach for her.   We headed to Louisiana Lagniappe for dinner and SG and Grandaddy passed the wait for our table by feeding the fish and the ducks.  So glad that she had a chance to make these sweet memories with them.

Beach Day 2

Image
Even though our room was very dark, SG woke up very early on our second day and was ready for the beach.  She and Pops sat on the balcony and she told him that she liked her beach! Our little beach babe!  She was excited to put on her "kini" and go "beach"!  She also enjoyed running up and down the length of the condo shouting, "I SUPER SARAH GRAVES!" over and over again!  It was the cutest thing and we have no idea where she learned it or get the idea for it.  She loves the sand and the water, but was not pleased with seaweed!  There was a line of seaweed that washed up and dried and she would have no part walking through it.  It served quite well as a little fence to keep her from going in the water! She and I went out and played in the waves some.  She loves the waves, just no seaweed! SG loved to cook for grandaddy and he played right along.  She made him grits, biscuits, pancakes, and soup!
