Paci Free!

Image
It has been two weeks since we became a paci free household and we are doing well. We always said when the paci caused problems we would get rid of it. During our last dentist visit he had concerns about his palate and the paci was the problem. It was extremely difficult to know that we had to take a comfort item away, but also knew it was the thing we as parents had to do. We agonized over the best way to do it. Finally, I decided we would go shop for a desired toy and each child would "pay" with their pacis. They were anxious about giving them up, but in the end did it with ease! A couple of last time paci pictures! I also got a couple of paci kisses!  Sarah Graves went first and although it was a tough choice, decided she wanted Grace, the Americsn Girl doll for 2015. She has been dreaming of this doll for months and happily handed over her pacis to the cashier! She loves the doll and hasn't mentioned her paci at bedtime or during the night. Phew! We were more worried

Sundae Sunday!

At. Benedict's is a wonderful parish for children. So much thought goes into making their spiritual life a good one. We celebrated the end of the school year with ice cream sundaes! Ice cream for breakfast on Sunday morning - what's not to love!

How Charlie Rolls

Charlie will go until he just can't go anymore! He fell asleep like this after refusing several attempts at taking a nap. Always my baby!

Pre-K Picnic

Image
Last week, the pre-k kids had a picnic. It was a gorgeous day and fun to be with SG and her friends. Many of these kids have been together since they were 2, so it is very comfortable for them to be together. Sydney, Hank, Charlotte, Sarah Graves and Peyton are all good buddies! The girls wanted to lay in the sun! They look so grown up! A selfie with the girls We had to get a shot with the new doll, Grace! Charlotte and Eliza are Sarah Graves' best friends or as she says it, BFFs! I love getting to be a part of these events with her friends.

Pre-K Graduation

Image
Hank is one of her good friends and very sweet to her! She loves her teacher, Ms. Marlene! Sarah Graves and her friends had been waiting with anticipation for their pre-k graduation! She is really excited for kindergarten and thinks that graduating from pre-k is when you become a kindergartener. This sweet boy was so well-behaved and very proud of his Sissy Graves. They said the Pledge of Allegiance, sang My Country Tis of Thee, and shared facts about the states they have studied about! She proudly told everyone about Louisiana and spoke clearly and slowly so everyone could hear. They also sang several songs they learned in Spanish demonstrating their vocabulary for colors and body parts. Nay and Livy came to celebrate the occasion. Little Apron hosted a celebration for the graduates and made a big deal of it. I think it feels like such a big deal because they will all head off to new schools next year. It is bittersweet for sure. So excited for her and her next advent

Dancing Darling

Image
The end of the school year brings the end of extra curricular activities and the first was her dance recital at Little Gym. She loved the costume for this one! Livy and Lovie came to watch her dance. They love Livy so much and just can't get enough of her. She did so well getting up on stage and doing her best!

Preschool Picnic

Image
For Charlie's last day of school, kids and parents met at a park nearby for a picnic. Charlie had a blast and he knows everybody! The ice-cream truck came and he was excited to get a spiderman ice-cream! Charlie is the kind of guy who knows what he wants and doesn't hesitate to say so! He was so patient waiting in line to order his ice cream-a hard thing for a little guy! He was so cute running with a football!

Afternoon in the Gardens

Image
We had a great Sunday Funday starting with brunch at Sissy's favorite, First Watch, and then heading to the botanical gardens. Charlie got sleepy before our food came and ended up napping on my lap while we ate, in the car seat on the way, and continued on in the stroller at the gardens! Sissy was all smiles with Daddy We loved the pretty irises She looks so grown up posed like this! There is a treehouse in the kids section and they were the only two there. They had a blast! We ended our day with dinner out!
