Pre-K Graduation

Hank is one of her good friends and very sweet to her!


She loves her teacher, Ms. Marlene!

Sarah Graves and her friends had been waiting with anticipation for their pre-k graduation! She is really excited for kindergarten and thinks that graduating from pre-k is when you become a kindergartener.
This sweet boy was so well-behaved and very proud of his Sissy Graves.



They said the Pledge of Allegiance, sang My Country Tis of Thee, and shared facts about the states they have studied about! She proudly told everyone about Louisiana and spoke clearly and slowly so everyone could hear.


They also sang several songs they learned in Spanish demonstrating their vocabulary for colors and body parts.



Nay and Livy came to celebrate the occasion.

Little Apron hosted a celebration for the graduates and made a big deal of it. I think it feels like such a big deal because they will all head off to new schools next year. It is bittersweet for sure.



So excited for her and her next adventure starting kindergarten at St. Benedict's! Her future looks litigation!

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
