Birthday Dinner

Image
The four of us enjoyed a lovely birthday dinner out at Cheesecake Factory. There were good moods and good food to make the evening lovely.  Chocolate cheesecake to celebrate! Sissy enjoyed it too!  We came home to enjoy watching The Middle and relax from a busy weekend. Lots to love and celebrate in our sweet guy. We are so thankful for him every day and all the joy he brings to our lives!

Birthday Breakfast

On Sunday, Charlie officially turned 8! We kicked off the day with a fun breakfast! The elves came and decorated his chair and put streamers outside his door. He found them trying to get in on the Nerf action! Those crazy elves shooting Nerf darts at the target!  Sleeping without a shirt is his new thing, not my favorite.  Birthday breakfast with Lovie and Pops! Grits and strawberries for the birthday boy! He was pleased to receive birthday money and is now anxious to find ways to spend it! Sissy got a big hug for the thoughtful Minecraft keychains and Legos she picked for him! We were enjoying watching The Middle from the beginning and then Prime pulled it down. Charlie was going crazy coming up with other ways to stream since we were in season 5 of 9. Having the box set of all the DVDs is very nice! This guy loves skinny jeans! Fun new video games, basketball, and Lego sets put a smile on his face! This cool Minecraft light was a big hit!

First Cross Country Meet

Sarah Graves was very excited to try cross country. We watched Overcomer to give her an idea of what it was like and she was still eager to do it! I was so excited to hear the school was still planning to have the team this year. There are sweet smiles behind those masks.  So excited to have her race bib and tracker on! We brought some extra cheerleaders to help her nerves! Some more of her cheering squad right here! These girls are ready to race! Sarah Graves finished in the top half with a time of 21:33. She looked strong as she finished, despite having run a bit extra because the route was not clearly marked!

Nerf Battle Birthday

During the summer, Charlie complained to me he was bored and I suggested he start thinking about what he wanted to do for his birthday. Poor guy, figured he couldn't have a party in the midst of a pandemic. I gave him the idea of a nerf battle in the park and that was just the spark he needed to get going! He took off researching parks, nerf themed decorations, nerf party favors, and even the exact balloons he wanted! He added items to amazon lists, he texted me links to websites, and he even called the park he wanted to ask about availability! I am very proud of how organized and thorough he is! When I sent out the invite, I was very nervous that parents would be afraid to have a birthday party right now. I was so pleased when immediately we received several acceptances from good buddies! The morning of his party he kept saying he wanted it to go perfect. I think he succeeded! The day was beautiful and filled with so much joy! Charlie wanted all the details for his party! I gave th
