100 Days of Kindergarten

Image
Being a kindergartener is hard work and after 100 days Charlie aged a lot! He was tickled to dress like an old man, powder his hair, wear glasses, and push a walker! The cutest old man I know! Charlie is easily embarrassed and sensitive about situations with his friends. I asked if I could come into school to take some pictures and at first he said no, then he changed his mind and decided it would be okay. Being aware of his needs and trying to do what is meaningful to him is a challenge. Glad I was able to be there to enjoy the cuteness! Walker buddies! Cub Scout Extraordinaire!

Image
Charlie and Aaron built a car for his first pinewood derby! Charlie picked the design for the car and helped to paint it. He was pretty excited about the race day! They had a cool system for showing whose car was racing and who was up next. Charlie named his car Frosty! Set and ready to go!  Each car raced five times and although Frosty didn't win, Frosty never came apart! During the pinewood derby, they took a break to award kids their bobcat badge. Charlie has worked very hard to memorize the scout oath, scout law, and scout motto. He and Aaron practiced it nightly until he knew it all. He was the only one from the Lion den who completed everything for the badge. He was proud of himself and we were even prouder of him!

Fashion Fun Birthday

Image
Sarah Graves' birthday party was very much her! She loves fashion so we did a fashion show with her friends and she picked the color palette of pink and gold.  I made this cute sign to fit with her theme.  These were also fun and easy to do adding her name and little details. The details were fun to pick out keeping with light pink and gold. It was girly and fun to decorate.  Lovie and Pops made this cupcake cake to look like a fancy dress out of Sarah Graves' dreams. The belt was fondant covered in gold sprinkles. Charlie was part of the paparazzi capturing pictures of the girls all dressed up. So glad Lovie and Pops could be there to celebrate with her. Getting all dolled up was fun.  Nay did an awesome job helping all the girls do their makeup. It was fun picking out glittery, bright colored eyeshadows and other fun makeup for the girls.  Sarah Graves was pleased with her makeup. Anna Grace and Sarah Graves

Turning 9

Image
I can't believe Sarah Graves has turned 9! I still look at her and see chubby cheeks and big, innocent eyes looking up at me! Yes, always my baby! She was a little disappointed that her actual birthday fell on MLK day, so she wasn't at school for her birthday. We tried to help her see the upside of not having homework on your birthday! She wanted Chipotle for dinner on her birthday. Nay, Livy, and Lovie met us for dinner and it felt like  a party! After dinner we went for cupcakes!   Then, it was home to open presents! There were some great surprises that put a big smile on her face! Yay for a fun day on her actual birthday!
