Teething

Image
This sweet boy is finally through the worst, but he is getting four top teeth all at the same time.  Over the weekend he ran fever, had a runny nose, and has drooled like crazy.  Poor love just wanted to be held and soothed through it.  I love that feeling when his body finally relaxes and sleep brings a reprieve from the discomfort.

Brusha, Brusha, Brusha!

Santa left a toothbrush in her stocking and we have been trying to brush her teeth before bed.  She doesn't seem to mind it.  Sometimes she wants to chew on it, but she lets us get in there and brush around.  She really is good natured and willing to try what we introduce to her.

Big Girl Teeth

This picture shows off her big girl teeth!  She has 5 now and there might be another one on the way!

It starts with "T"

Teething, that is. Sarah Graves has a tooth on top that is now visible. She has 4 others that you can feel pushing through. Saturday she slipped up and let me get my finger in to feel and she has one coming in on the side. I think she is uncomfortable because there have been some times where she is rested and fed, but seems a bit grumpy. I have given her some teething tablets and I think they help some. Fortunately, she doesn't seem to be having as hard of a time as I've heard some describe. She has developed this habit that alarmed me at first, but now I know it is pretty normal, she grinds her teeth. It makes a disturbing sound and she does it a lot. I read that they think it is because the teeth feel strange to them. I'm not sure why she wouldn't just feel it with her tongue. I guess they usually grow out of it pretty quick, so I won't worry.

A Tooth, A Tooth!

Sarah Graves has cut her first tooth!  I was very naive and thought that the whole tooth would come up at once.  I don't know where I got that notion or how I thought an entire tooth would just appear, but that's how I thought it would happen.  Instead, you can just feel the little bump of a tooth coming through the skin on the lower right side.

No Teeth Yet

In case you are wondering, we don't have any teeth in sight.  She has been loving this teething ring; it's one of the kinds that you put in the freezer.  She will go to town just gnawing on it, but I don't feel any swollen places on those little gums.  Maybe I am glad that she doesn't have any teeth yet as I am a little nervous about being bitten with one of those razor sharp new ones.
