Birthday Breakfast

On Sunday, Charlie officially turned 8! We kicked off the day with a fun breakfast!

The elves came and decorated his chair and put streamers outside his door.

He found them trying to get in on the Nerf action! Those crazy elves shooting Nerf darts at the target! 
Sleeping without a shirt is his new thing, not my favorite. 

Birthday breakfast with Lovie and Pops! Grits and strawberries for the birthday boy!

He was pleased to receive birthday money and is now anxious to find ways to spend it!

Sissy got a big hug for the thoughtful Minecraft keychains and Legos she picked for him!

We were enjoying watching The Middle from the beginning and then Prime pulled it down. Charlie was going crazy coming up with other ways to stream since we were in season 5 of 9. Having the box set of all the DVDs is very nice!

This guy loves skinny jeans!

Fun new video games, basketball, and Lego sets put a smile on his face!

This cool Minecraft light was a big hit!

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
