Double Date

Friday night we went on a double date with my friend Sarah and her boyfriend. We haven't been on a date with another couple in a very long time. We had so much fun! We started with dinner at a local Italian place called Scalini's. After feasting on salad, fried calamari, and a host of Italian dishes all containing the "good" sausage (that was too funny!), we went over to Bruster's for ice cream. Bruster's is so yummy! I had a baby cone of white chocolate turtle and it was the perfect amount. We finished off the evening by going to see "Funny People" at the movie. It has Adam Sandler and Seth Rogan with cameos from James Taylor, MNM, and Ray Romano. It was part serious and part super funny. Thanks to my increased energy level, I was able to make it up until we got home a little before 11. In case you weren't aware, that is very late for me! 9 o'clock is usually the time when I start heading upstairs. Anyway, the company Friday night was fantastic and we had a great time.

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
