A Big Girl Seat

A few weeks ago we started thinking that Sarah Graves had probably gained enough weight to be too big for her infant carrier and needed to switch over to the big girl car seat. 
I couldn't help but think back to this photo of how small she was when we brought her home in the infant carrier.   
Now she's a much bigger baby riding in this kind of seat.  She still faces the rear, so I'm not sure that she thinks anything has actually changed! 
As it turns out, she is still within the height and weight recommendations for the infant carrier!  We will use it to take on a plane for a trip this weekend!  These big car seats are much more difficult to install properly and that way we can avoid having to take one out of the car and re-install it when we return.

These big girl seats go way big.  In fact, the one that we bought for my car will become a booster seat that she can ride in until 100 pounds!  The car seats for Aaron's and Lovie's cars go up to 70 pounds. 
I figure that when she's ready to start dating we will take her out of the car seat!

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
