First Haircut

After much debate we decided to take Sarah Graves for her first haircut.  The debate was over when a baby girl should have her first haircut and we finally decided that the baby mullet was more than we could handle! 
I took her to an adult hair salon to see Ms. Lisa who also cuts kids' hair.  Ms. Lisa oohed and aaahed over Sarah Graves and knew just how to work with a baby girl.  Sarah Graves did great and seemed to enjoy all the attention.  I held her on my lap, Mom entertained her with Sophie, and Daddy was paparazzi.  He took some great pictures of her.

She was so good and easy going.  She didn't mind having someone fiddle with her hair at all.  I was proud of her for being such a sweet girl.

Ms. Lisa didn't take off much length.  The baby mullet is gone in the back and the sides that were growing uneven are now fixed.  She also gave Sarah Graves a few wispy bangs so the hair in front is now out of her eyes.  Of course, every girl needs a bow to accent her pretty hair!

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
