Christmas Eve

Our Christmas Eve got off to a great start when we went to the Macks' annual Christmas Eve party.  Their house was a treasure trove of things that Sarah Graves would have loved to gobble up and there were some people there who would have gobbled her up!  It was a nice time visiting with neighbors and friends of my parents and some of the kids that I babysat for long ago. 



We had some time to hang out at my parents' before church, so Pops read SG some books and we let her open one of her presents.  She received a tent and a tunnel that attaches to it.  She liked the tunnel and I liked the tent!

Christmas Eve service was lovely and Sarah Graves made it up for all of it.  I thought she would have fallen asleep before eleven, but she stayed awake and pretty pleasant until after 12.  i was so happy to see some of our favorite people from St. B's at the 11 o'clock service. 
After church we headed home so that we could get baby girl in bed before Santa came...

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
