New York State of Mind

Today, Mom, SG and I flew to New York. I am attending some training and they came to keep me company. SG ended up nursing and sleeping in my arms most of the flight. We had the window seat and I think there a few people that we didn't flash! I know it won't be long until SG decides to wean, but I am grateful that I have been able to soothe her like I could today.
Our hotel is just a few blocks from Times Square and pretty spacious.
We walked over to Times Square to look around and have dinner at a deli. I ordered food out of obligation and thoroughly enjoyed the cheesecake, which I really wanted!
SG was wide eyed as we strolled around the busy streets. She was going strong when I made her go to bed at 11. She rarely makes it past 8:30 or 9 o'clock, but it is the city that never sleeps. She is an excellent traveler and adapts pretty easily to whatever we try.
We are using jarred baby food, so I am sure she will have some reactions to the different tastes. Maybe it will spark some ideas for new menu items at home.
I think Lovie and SG are planning a trip to the Central Park Zoo tomorrow while I am in training. We are hoping for some good weather.

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
