Family Reunion

Saturday was our family reunion with the family on my paternal grandmother's side (a.k.a. Maw Maw Bourgeois' side).  We had a great time visiting with everyone and eating some delicious food!  My cousin Eric made gumbo and everyone else brought different items like sweet potato casserole and homemade cookies! 
My grandmother had a pack'n play so that SG could take some naps and she did.  She was passed around the aunts, uncles, and cousins and was pretty content with them.  I'm not sure how we ended up with mostly pictures of her with some of the men!  My pictures came back a bit random as far as what I caught!

We love babies in our family and we had a few of them there.  Sarah Graves had several babies to check out; sweet babies, too!

cousin Lynsey with her baby, Wyatt.  SG and Wyatt are a few weeks apart, but he is so mellow that he makes SG look like a wild woman!
I'm not sure how many of us there were on Saturday.  My Dad has 3 sisters, his aunt had 4 daughters, and his uncle had 8 kids.  Most of them had children of their own and a number of us now have children of our own!  That's a lot of Bourgeois, Aucoins, and Roubiques running around!  We have a lot of fun when we get together, which in the past few years has been mostly at weddings and showers for weddings and babies.  I miss living close to be able to go to all of those events.  I'm glad SG had a chance to get together with a lot of her extended family!

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
