First Visit with the OB

So yesterday we had our first appointment with the doctor. Her name is Dr. Fine and I picked her because she takes my insurance and her office is literally in walking distance from my house. I was poked and prodded and finally Dr. Fine proclaimed, "well, there's definitely something in there." There was no proclamation that the next leader of the free world was in there or the next Nobel prize winner was in there, but we'll take it. She gave both of us opportunities to ask questions and tried to calm my concerns. She seems relaxed, which is good for me.
The books say that your blood volume almost doubles during pregnancy and I think the purpose is really so that you will have enough for all the blood they want to draw. Not sure we had the best phlebotomist out there, but she got the job done and Aaron managed to live through it.
Now, we just need this little person to grow, grow, grow and wait for an appointment for an ultrasound!

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
