Big Girl Bed

Saturday night was Sarah Graves' first night in a big girl bed.  This bed and the furniture to go with it has been a work in progress for several weeks and I will post about that later.  She has been so excited about having a big girl bed!  The headboard and footboard were sitting in the hallway waiting for a while and everyday she would remind me it was her bed!
We got it all made up for her and she excitedly hopped right in.  We weren't sure how it would go, but she didn't try to get out.  She did take a little while to settle down and called for me a couple of times for a drink of water and to use the potty.  Once she fell asleep, we only heard from her once during the night when she woke up crying that she needed to go potty.  A quick trip to the potty and she was back in bed and asleep within seconds.  She slept until about 7, which was good because she was very late going to bed!
She napped in it well yesterday and slept well last night, so I am hoping that this is a smooth transition. 
The crib is in pieces in Chubby's room and now points to it and says that it is Chubby's crib.  I am hoping seeing him in the crib will not bother her.  She is really excited about him and points out all sorts of things that can be for Chubby.  Let's hope that transition goes well, too!

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
