Noppies

When I first found out I was pregnant, a friend of Jeanne’s recommended Noppies maternity pants. I looked in several maternity stores around Atlanta and never could find them, so I took a leap of faith and ordered them online. I have been very pleased with them. Most of the maternity pants that I have seen have a stretchy panel sewn to regular pant fabric. This creates a seam that I found uncomfortable. Noppies are not made like that. Noppies do not have a stretchy panel and the entire pant is made of a fabric that has some give to it. The nice thing about these is that the back has a sturdy piece of elastic with button holes throughout and on each side there is a button so that you can use the elastic to help cinch the pants up early on or let it out all the way toward the end. The one thing that I would mention about these pants is that they are meant to be worn all the way up over your belly. If you’re the kind of person who only wants to wear something under your belly, this might be annoying to you. I am fine with wearing my pants Steve Urkel style :)

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
