Getting Ready for Easter!

 Saturday morning we got an early start getting ready for Easter.  Sarah Graves was feeling pretty good and Charlie was hanging in there.  Lovie and Maw Maw came over to dye Easter eggs and Lovie brought some cookies for SG to ice.  Maw Maw suggested doughnuts for breakfast and it felt like a party!  SG was pretty content eating doughnuts and making stuff!



Charlie settled right in with Maw Maw while she was here and she was pretty attached to him as well!  His ears were bothering him, so he wasn't his usual smiley self.  Later in the day we spoke to a doctor and got him an antibiotic started.  




He might be a future Tech alum!

The afternoon was beautiful, so we hid eggs in the backyard for SG to hunt.  

Charlie gave his swing a go!


It was so nice to have a warm, sunny afternoon to play outside!  I feel like we have been sick and the weather has been bad for ages!  So glad to get out and get some fresh air.

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
