Road Trip!

Yesterday we made the trip to Baton Rouge so that our sweet boy could be baptized with his extended family around him.  I was nervous about making the drive with two little ones, but my parents helped out and it worked okay.
Mom and Dad drove me and the kids so that I could sit in the third row seat and be their personal driving assistant.  Charlie seemed to do better being able to see a face and Sarah Graves liked having me there to read to her, set up her iPod, and get the iPad for her.   We made several stops for snacks, potty break, and nursing.  Sarah Graves loves going into the gas station and picking something out with Pops!
Aaron left after work and made the trip quickly by himself.  He didn't seem disappointed not to ride with an infant and toddler.

Probably the best entertainment for her was watching the season of Caillou that I downloaded and put on the iPad.  She loves that show and it seems to relax her.  

We were really late getting in last night and of course Sarah Graves was up early this morning  Today we are getting everything ready for the baptism and party tomorrow and maybe checking out the indoor pool at the hotel!

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
