Charlie's Baptism

We had a great trip to Baton Rouge and had it not been for our hotel having spotty internet access, I would have posted about our trip sooner.  

Charlie's baptism was a special occasion for us and we were so excited that so many family could be there to share it with us.  We had grandparents, great grandmothers, aunts, uncles, and cousins there.  




Charlie did not enjoy the experience that much.  In fact, we were that family during the service.  We had a toddler jumping and talking loudly, an infant who wailed periodically, a momma breastfeeding in the front pew, and various family members all doing there best to keep everyone calm!  The priest was so kind and made it seem as if we were totally normal!

We are so thankful to Mr. Dan and Beverly for driving down for the special event.  I didn't think orchestrate pictures of everyone else at the church.  I am thankful to Uncle Steve for serving as paprazzi and getting these shots for us!

We are so proud to have Charlie join our Christian family and be sealed as God's own forever.

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
