Random Thoughts

I just rocked Sarah Graves back to sleep. She rarely really wakes up at night, but every now and then she wakes up and cries and needs help going back to sleep. I very much appreciate getting a full night's sleep, but there is something so sweet and special about rocking a sweet baby with only moonlight to light her room and that feel of her body getting heavy in my arms.
I am up late anyway preparing for a presentation I am giving tomorrow. I didn't write the content, so I need a lot of practice.
I am also up thinking about Maw Maw Yvonne. She went to the hospital today because she has 2 large blood clots in her leg. Mom is flying out in the morning to be with her. Aaron will stay with SG tomorrow. I am working on how Monday and Tuesday will work balancing SG and work. Mom will be back on Tuesday night, so I'm sure we can work it out. It just may be a little crazy around here! Prayers for a speedy recovery are much appreciated!

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
