Birthday at Sprayground

Today we went to a party at the splashground for our friend Mia.  Sarah Graves and Mia are good buddies and Sarah Graves just worships her!  When she sees her, Sarah Graves starts to move her feet very fast like she is trying to jump up and down and she squeals, "baby!"  Mia is happy to see her and starts to smile. 
Where Sarah Graves is into everything and extremely focused on discovering everything, Mia is relaxed and takes the world in at a more relaxed pace.  They balance each other out well!



Mia celebrated her birthday at the splashground.  Splashgrounds are huge fun for little people because they cool off in the water and have the independence of moving around on their own.  Independence is a big deal to us, so that makes this the perfect activity!

I wanted a picture of these two together, but we just couldn't get them both looking at the camera.  Here SG is reaching out to Mia for a hug. 
SG looks a bit like a giant being 7 months older and on the tall side for her height!

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
