Dinner with Family

After the wedding, we went back to our hotel and we all took a rest.  SG and Daddy took a nap and Momma used the time to play on the iPad.  That night we met up with family for dinner and time to catch up. 
I love all of these ladies in this picture with all of my heart!

SG was quite the performer and enjoyed giggles with Aunt Linda.

She really took to Maw Maw Yvonne and reached out for her to hold her.

SG really enjoyed seeing two of her cousins, Abby and Emily.  Emily is 6 months older and Abby is 2 years older. 

The girls gathered around the iPad to watch Baby First TV during dinner.  This programming is designed for little kids and is developmentally appropriate for them.  SG just loves it!  Emily was pretty enthralled too.  It worked out perfect because 3 hours at a restaraunt is hard for a one year old, but some entertainment on the iPad did just the trick to keep her happy.


Uncle Steve played with SG some and she showed him how she knows what the Native American says.  Ha!

We wish that we could have visited with everyone and I always wish that I took more pictures, but we had a good time just the same.

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
