Girls Weekend

 Sarah Graves and I spent a fun weekend together while Aaron and Charlie were camping. We didn't do anything really exciting, but we enjoyed some fun time together

She played a softball game on Saturday against a team that was really tough the previous season and whose coaches and parents have bad attitudes. 

She had a nice hit!

She scored a run off that hit!

Her team won easily, which was made even better because the other team's coaches are rude and their players are not good sportsmen. 

Her friend had a birthday that day and Sarah Graves wanted to help her celebrate by making cupcakes to share after the game. She did a great job baking!

After the game we did some shopping, she worked hard on her Silver award for Girl Scouts, and we spent some nice time just being together. 
We are getting to that phase of childhood where she is on the go a lot and it is so nice to spend some time with her.

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
