First Day of School!

It felt all too soon our vacation was over and school was starting, marking the end of our summer!

SG helped pack lunches for the first day. Aaron takes care of lunches since he leaves soon after the kids get up, but SG was eager to help with picking items for the first day.

This was my first time working with chalk markers and I was really impressed with how it worked! Sarah Graves wanted to write her information and I think she did a great job!

My buddy was excited for his first day! Thanks to Love for another precious first day of school shirt for this man!

Sarah Graves was a little nervous to be moving up to second grade and leaving her beloved teacher, Ms. Muller, behind. She was really excited and proud to carry her backpack and lunchbox that she picked and that were beautifully monogrammed thanks to Lovie! She was also super proud of her fun tennis shoes that Grancy took her to get.

My man! Love this boy and so proud of all the maturity he has gained this past year!

I know she was nervous, but she was brave!

The big excitement for second grade is having your own desk!

She also gets her own planner to write her assignments in! This is starting to feel very grownup! 

I am always so proud of how well they embrace new experiences and are eager to take on new responsibilities that come with growing up.

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
