Happy Birthday, Maw Maw!

We celebrated Maw Maw's birthday with her right after Labor Day and tried to make it a fun day!  We started with a fun breakfast that was yummy, too!  Then we took Maw Maw with us to Music Together.  We went home for naps and then headed to Lovie and Pops' house for a fun dinner and cupcakes!  





SG and Charlie hold hands in the backseat a lot.  SG tells Charlie to hold her hand and he reaches out and take it.  These two are very sweet with one another!

I love how she rides with her feet propped up and I am in love with these cute shoes!




She had so much fun playing with the parachute!




Charlie was quite tickled with the parachute too!

Sarah Graves and I made Maw Maw some lemon buttercream cupcakes.  We used candy pieces to make some of them look like suns!

Our fun dinner consisted of a variety of appetizers!  I think the favorites were chicken tikka samosas and cheese arancini.  

Sarah Graves made Maw Maw a card complete with a picture made out of glitter.

This tunnel at Lovie and Pops' gets a ton of play!  Both kids love it and Pops likes it a lot too!

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
