Ho! Ho! Ho! Your Halloween

Ms. Margaret Ann sent us these darling Halloween outfits.  I just LOVE the orange and black one!  SG loves all things yellow, so you know which one is her pick!  I am so thankful for all the cute things sewn for her. 

We are getting excited for Halloween!  Through the help of my Mom and Jeanne', SG's Halloween costume is ready.  However, we may have a little confusion about the holiday.  Several weeks ago I told her about Santa Claus and how he says, "Ho! Ho! Ho!"  I figured I would start working it in and by Christmas she would probably have the idea.  Well much to my surprise, she took to Santa Claus immediately and started saying, "Ho! Ho! Ho!"  The only problem is that she also thinks pumpkins say, "Ho! Ho! Ho!"  We walk into any store with a Halloween display and she excitedly points and shouts, "Ho! Ho! Ho!"  The worst part is that pumpkins don't really make a sound, so it's hard to correct her.  I have taught her that ghosts say, "Boo!", but what does a pumpkin say?  We have been mentioning trick-or-treat, but she doesn't get that yet.  So for now, at our house pumpkins say, "Ho! Ho! Ho!"

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
