Beach Trip Part 1

This has been a busy week, but I am finally uploading pictures from our trip.  I uploaded 1,560 pictures, so you can guess that we will have to have multiple posts to show the good ones :)

We headed down to the beach the Saturday when tropical storm Lee was making its way to Louisiana.  We looked at the forecast and expected most of the week to be rainy weather, but decided a bad day at the beach was better than being at work!

Aaron's Dad and stepmom were already going to be in Hattiesburg, MI for a football game and planned to come spend a day or so visiting with us before they went back to Shreveport.  They are real troopers because they came on despite all the stormy weather.  They had to take a detour for a bit as they came up on a tornado forming along their way to us.  Then their trip home took them 4 hours longer than it should have due to all the wind and driving rain.  Grandchildren will make people do crazy things is all I can say!

We are so glad that they came because we haven't seen them since January.  Sarah Graves warmed up real quick and had a good time with them.  We went to dinner at Louisiana Lagniappe (this place is delicious, by the way) and Sarah Graves was quite the piglet for hush puppies.  At one point I told her she couldn't take another until she ate the one in her hand, so she stuffed the whole thing in her mouth!  Grandaddy showed her how to feed bits of hush puppy to the fish in the bay.  She was amazed to watch them swim up and fight over the food.

Sunday and Monday, the storms would move through in waves, so sometimes we had weather that at least allowed us to walk outside and look at the beach.  You can see it was really windy.
 Watching the birds with Grandaddy.

She and Mimi were playing catch with Grandaddy.

Sometimes it was raining so hard that despite having the storm shutters closed, the porch would fill with water.  She was delighted to splash around in it!

Baby giggles is so funny, especially when Grandaddy is playing with her.
