Skinny Jeans

While Grancy was here she wanted to buy Sarah Graves a prize, so we went to Crazy 8 and picked out a cute outfit for the fall.  I got the jeans in a size 2T just to be sure that they would be roomy to go up over her fluffy diaper.  I decided to try them on her at home and I was envisioning that if anything, they would be too big and way too long. 
When I put them on her, they started to get stuck at her knees and the top of the jeans wouldn't go any higher than her hips.  I was trying to help her wiggle into them like I would my own and then it occured to me that babies are constantly growing and these jeans just wouldn't work for us. 
When I took them off of her I did a check to see that I had picked up the right size and noticed that these were labeled skinny jeans!  Who would imagine that they make skinny jeans for babies?  Who wouldn't want their baby to be a little chubby?  Who knew that fashion issues started so young? 


Needless to say, I will be on the lookout for what cut of jeans I pick up for her next time.  I will look for a picture of a bulldog on our next pair!

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
