Weekend Staycation

Cobb County spring break means a break in our crazy activity schedule! We enjoyed a weekend spending time together going to Six Flags and the zoo. Beautiful weather and such a good time together!
We had a great time, even if it was a bit cool. We had a brief flashback to our pelting rain experience on Slinky Dog when it started to sprinkle on me and Charlie as we rose high on Acrophobia! Luckily, the rain was brief and the sun came out!





Now that Charlie can ride everything at Six Flags, he is happy to try it all!




Our little birds are growing up!



We learned that the pandas at the zoo may have to return in China in a few years and China may not renew the contract for the zoo to keep the program. 




The real reason the kids like going to the zoo is the ropes course!

This weekend was good for all of us and we thoroughly enjoyed the time together, instead of splitting up in different directions!

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
