On Mother's Day we found a water pipe leaked in our basement resulting in wet carpet and a wet wall. That led us to move forward with taking out all the carpet and repainting the guest room and guest bath in the basement. It took a ton of work because we had to move everything out of the basement to remove the old carpet and have the new floors installed. Then, we had the big task of moving everything back into the basement. We used the opportunity to clean out and better organize the storage area, craft room, office, and play room! It is so much better now, but boy it was a lot of work! Lots of late nights and lots of trips and up and down the stairs! 
Once the floors were installed, we realized we needed additional trim that we didn't have with carpet. Dad came to the rescue and helped me cut and install the new moulding. The kids were put to work painting it! 
Aaron and I took on painting the guest room and bath. The fresh new color looks so good!Aaron took on refinishing the basement stairs. That old carpet was so horrible and I'm so glad it's gone!
Phew! It was a lot of work, but looks really nice and I'm so glad we did it.

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
