Beach Trip!

With a tropical storm expected to make its way into the Gulf, we were worried our beach trip would be rained out. We were thankful once again that what could have been a week of complete rain was really only a day of wind and rain! We were so blessed! 

On our rainy day, we put on our rain jackets and headed out to see Marvel Infinity War, do some shopping, and enjoyed dinner at Hog's Breath. A pretty good day!

We had a pleasant surprise to learn that Gramma was at a nearby beach visiting some friends of hers We were able to meet up for lunch and visit with her. A real treat!



 We spent a good bit of our time enjoying the beach and the pool The kids had new snorkel sets to practice using and of course there are favorite things like riding on the shark surf board and cooking in the sand! Love that they have their beach traditions and hope it gives them fond memories as they grow.

Our last night at the beach was one of those magical evenings where we are all in sync and life goes very smooth. 

We had a great dinner out on the patio at Floyd's listening to a band do covers of 80's and 90's music. 



After dinner we headed off to play putt putt and finished the evening with fireworks! 

On our way out we had to stop at the Air Force armament museum. It has become a bit of a tradition with the kids!

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
