Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder

Lovie is part of the kids' daily lives. She drives afternoon carpool, so the teachers all know her; she goes to chapel with the kids; and she takes them to their after school activities. Maw Maw needed a big surgery and Lovie was going to take care of her for about a month. The kids were definitely nervous to be without Lovie. I was nervous to be without her, too! She knows their schedule and what they need after school better than I do!
Lovie begs Charlie for hugs and he typically resists, so we knew he was sensing her leaving when he snuggled right up next to her!

Fortunately, we found a nice person to come and take care of the kids in the afternoons. As Sarah Graves would say, Kaitlynn wasn't Lovie, but she was nice. She got us through a month and the kids were well cared for the whole time. We were all glad to have Lovie come back!
