Weekend with Friends

My best friend, Alexis, and her husband, Tim, took a multi-week road trip and we were fortunate enough to have them stop off in Atlanta for a weekend! It was the weekend of the LSJ v. Mama game so we decided to make it football themed.

We started Saturday off with Charlie's last soccer game of the season.
He kept a great attitude and stayed in the game!

Sissy cheered him on!

Alexis and Tim were so kind and cheered him on with enthusiasm.


After soccer and some lunch, we headed to the College Football Hall of Fame. 

I really thought we were going for Tim who is a big college football fan, but the kids really got into it! The moment Charlie heard you could win a prize if you did all the activities, he and Sarah Graves were on a mission! They loved checking how many they had completed and finding the next one!

 Touchdown!







Alexis brought the kids a microphone for singing karaoke and Sarah Graves really enjoyed it! Alexis and I had a lot of fun with it too! Sarah Graves also discovered Mad Libs in the museum gift shop and had so much fun doing them with everyone and might have driven everyone a little crazy with it!

 We gathered together for the LSU v. Alabama game with high hopes that LSU might pull out a win. They didn't win, but we enjoyed a fun appetizer dinner and hanging out with each other.






 Sunday morning everyone was ready for church

So happy that for more than 25 years we have been friends. A lot of good times together.

 Since we were ready for church early, we headed to Krispy Kreme for doughnuts!




We had a great time together and really hope that we will see more of them!

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
