Snow Fun!

fIt has been a couple of years since we had any real snow! I was quite doubtful we would get any and so disappointed when family in Louisiana were sharing their pictures of the snow they received. Then, the rain began to turn icy and snow was falling! School let out early on a Friday and it was beautiful to watch!

Charlie wasted no time getting out in it even when it was not cold enough for it to really stick!

He wanted to have snowball fights!

Sissy was interested in the snow, but didn't want to be wet and really wanted to sled. This wasn't good sledding snow.




 At one point, we took a walk in the neighborhood to see how it looked in other areas, but at that time it was more sleet than snow falling. Charlie had fun walking with his umbrella!


Gramma came out for some snow fun!

Grancy was happy to join Charlie for a snowball fight!

By evening, we were getting more snow and overnight it would really stick!


A winter wonderland was what we woke up to!



So much fun to have the snow while Grancy and Gramma were visiting!

I loved the branches covered in the snow and ice!

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
