We're Going to Frozen!

A month ago, we learned about the Frozen Summer Fun event going on at Disney's Hollywood Studios.  At first, we were excited thinking we would see it when we go in September.  Then, I read that the event is only until September 1st.  That's when mom had the idea to kidnap the kids and take them!  After some consideration, she suggested that we could go just for a weekend to checkout the Frozen event.  At first, it seemed a bit outrageous.  Then, I read reviews of the event and knew we had to go!  Lovie planned the whole weekend for all of us and it was a blast!

I thought it would be fun to keep the trip a surprise and tell Sarah Graves about it the morning that we were going to leave.  It would have been really hard to keep it a surprise if it weren't for us already having the September trip planned.  t planned bags full of Frozen themed goodies and Aunt Nay created a special invitation from Anna and Elsa inviting them to come be part of the party at Disney.  We all gathered at our house to tell the kids before we headed off on our fun adventure.  Instead of being ecstatic about the trip to Disney, they were much more interested in the bags full of goodies!  The Elsa tiara for Sarah Graves and the Olaf cup for Charlie were the most impressive to them!  Maybe four years old is too young for a surprise like that.  Anyway, they were happy and we headed off on a road trip!

We leisurely made our way down to Disney making many restroom stops and a Dairy Queen frozen treat stop.  After checking out our awesome three bedroom suite, we excitedly headed out to the pool.  Um, I'm pretty sure we were channeling the Hecks from ABC's sitcom, "The Middle."  We had not one, but two seriously embarrassing experiences.  The first happened when Sarah Graves was so excited to get back to the pool where we were swimming to tell us about the hot tubs that she just jumped right in and totally froze forgetting that she knows how to swim and how to float.  She started drowning and we didn't see her, but Jeanne' had been with her and was trying to catch up to her and felt hysterical watching the scene unfold so fast.  Another parent was on the deck and saw what was happening, so he jumped in to help her.  When he did, he forgot his phone was in his pocket.  After thanking him repeatedly, I asked for him to take my email address or some way of contacting me so that we could reimburse him for the phone, but he refused.  I don't think his wife felt so gracious.

Then, Sarah Graves and Charlie and I made our way to the hot tub and were enjoying relaxing while talking to a dad and his daughter.  The jets shut off about the time that Dad walked up, so I asked him to press the button to make them start.  He asked me if the button on the red panel was the correct one and I couldn't read the sign from that far, so I just said yes.  It turns out, that was the panic alarm and a very loud alarm started going off in the pool area!  I was mortified and could not get everyone ready to go fast enough!  Once we all recomposed ourselves, we enjoyed a nice dinner in the hotel and got ready for our big day!  Sarah Graves really enjoyed having a big bed all to herself and happily went to bed that night.
