Decorating

Sissy was super=excited about getting our tree and decorating it!  We made plans to get it on Friday evening after the LSU game.  Charlie wasn't feeling super on Friday, so made it a quick trip out to get our tree, but it was still late when we got home.  She really wanted to decorate it Friday night, but fell asleep before we had it in the stand!  When she got up Saturday morning, we were ready for her to put the ornaments on!



Charlie had to get on the ladder, too!  He was feeling pretty rotten, so I let him give it a try.  Poor buddy just didn't feel good at all.

Our tree is perfect for us and holds ornaments with lots of special memories for us.  I love reminding Sarah Graves about the stories for some of the ornaments as they go on the tree.  

We have the tree off the ground, so it isn't easy reach for Charlie.  So far he hasn't touched it much.

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Teenager!

Sarah Graves loves baking, watching baking shows, and has lots of ideas about cake decorating. She wanted to decorate her cake herself and made it a team effort with Lovie.  She was very proud of the finished product and learned that piping icing isn't as easy as it looks! For her party, friends went ice skating then came back to our house for food and cake! This guy we referred to as "Cat Man" skated around with his cat and at time with hold the cat under its front legs just above the ice and let it sway as he skated! The cat did not seem to mind...it sure did catch our attention! Pierced ears mean fun earrings! Aunt Lexie definitely picked fun ones with these rubber chickens! So many people love this sweet girl and showed up to celebrate her!
