More Party Fun!

We wanted Charlie's party to be relaxed and just family and a few close friends.  That is exactly the party that he had.  We set up little pools in the backyard for a few kids to splash around in, ate pizza, and celebrated our little guy.  
Greg is a good buddy to Sarah Graves and was very sweet to Charlie!

This is Jennifer with baby Cooper.  He and Charlie haven't noticed each other yet, but they can be friends when they get a bit older.

Katie came with her two kiddos, Alli and Cooper.

Greg loved the pool as much as Sarah Graves!

He and Lovie had a chance to chat.

Aunt Nay made over her favorite nephew!

The tire swing was a fun spot!

This pool with the little slide and the ball chutes was tons of fun!  Thanks to Aunt Nay for finding it!


Maw Maw Yvonne came to celebrate Charlie's big day!

Charlie loves the iPhone so much that we got him a dummy phone and he knew just what to do with it!

His birthday was just what we hoped it would be - people who care about him gathering around and celebrating the joy he is in this world!

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
