What a Night!

A leaky diaper at 2 am resulted in a cold and crying baby.  Lucky for her, Daddy heard her cries and was getting up before I knew what was happening.  He changed her diaper and pajamas and was working on soothing her back to sleep, but she wasn't having it.  I came in about 15 minutes later to try and soothe her.  She was content for me to rock her for a while, but wasn't going to sleep.  After a bit of that she decided it would be fun to get up and play.  I explained to her that she would have to go back in her crib. 
I left her in her crib for about an hour, but she never went back to sleep.  She fussed off and on and finally at 3 I decided to try something different (I can't sleep when I am waiting for her to quit fussing and fall asleep).  I took her downstairs and got her a snack hoping that a full tummy would ease her back to sleep.  We then got her soft and warm blanket from her bed and snuggled into our rocker.  Again, she was content to rock and those eyes would get heavy, but she wouldn't go to sleep.  I tried putting her in her bed, but that was met with immediate howling.  So, I decided that she and I would lay down in the guest room and try to get her to sleep there.  She nursed herself to sleep around 4 and slept next to me until Aaron woke us at 6:15. 
I know that I am tired this morning after our night of musical beds and I'm sure that she is too.  Lucky for her, she can take an early nap this morning.  Me, I have meetings starting at 9 and ending at 3:30.  No worried, I have a Coke Zero in hand. :)

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Cloth vs. Disposable

We have mostly been planning to do disposable diapers because I felt that cloth would just be too much work when I go back to work.  Then, we saw these diapers called happy heiny's ( www.happyheinys.com ).  These looked much different than what I envisioned cloth diapers to look like.  Mom used cloth diapers with me and Jeanne', so she felt totally up for using them while Sarah Graves is at her house.  I started looking into the cost comparison and depending on what type of cloth diapers you buy, you can save anywhere from $1200 - $1700.  That is pretty attractive, not to mention knowing that you aren't filling up a landfill somewhere.  There are lots of different varieties of cloth diapers out there, but the ones that seem to be a good investment and user friendly are diapers that have snap closures, with a pocket for an insert to absorb the contents, and they are one size that adjusts as your baby grows from a newborn up to 35 pounds.  You can also purchase the traditio
