Mother's Day

SG wanted to get our mother's day celebration off to an early start so she woke up at midnight crying with a huge dirty diaper.  I rocked her back to sleep (that was pretty sweet) and got back to bed for her to wake up again at 2 and then again at 4.  Nothing like being reminded that you really are a mother!  I put her in bed with us to nurse at 4 and I could tell that her nose was stuffy.  We were up for the day soon after that and she wasn't feeling all that well.  I think she is teething and they are really bothering her. 
Aaron made us pancakes for breakfast and by 7:30 she was acting sleepy and I was feeling very sleepy.  I put her in bed and went to bed myself.  I was asleep for about 10 minutes when I heard her crying.  She was very warm and grinding her teeth constantly.  I gave her Tylenol for the fever, but I don't think it helped the discomfort too much.  Our whole day was a series of trying to find things to soothe her and keep her from crying. 
We made it out to Costco and I enjoyed a piece of pizza there for lunch (I love their pizza, so that was a treat).  My little buddy loves pizza too and enjoyed some of mine. 
She took a few more short naps in the afternoon and we went for a walk and played on her swingset to pass the day.  She was very pleasant outside after one of her naps.  That's when I caught these cute pictures of her.

It may not have been the peaceful, relaxing day that I would hope for, but I am grateful to call myself a mother and to spend time with SG, Lucy, and Aaron.  They are my whole world.

Frozen Party Details

Like most girls her age, Sarah Graves LOVES Frozen and has known for quite some time that she wanted a Frozen birthday party. I was so excited when I saw this invitation on Etsy and she loved it too! It reminded me of an infographic. The Frozen theme was a lot of fun! There were so many things to choose from that I took to pinterest and eventually decided on the ideas that I would use for this party. I found this great Arendelle banner here on Pinterest I was so grateful that my sister did a snowflake Christmas and had tons of snowflake ornaments to hang as decorations! This party theme was a lot of fun to plan the food. Kristoff's ice cubes were made from Jell-o with an ombre effect. I found the recipe here on Pinterest. I doubled the recipe to make a 13x9 size pan of it and I made 2 13x9 pans of it. The made plenty of "ice cubes" to fill 35 cups. They turned out really cute! My parents made this Elsa cake and did a fabulous job

Teenager!

Sarah Graves loves baking, watching baking shows, and has lots of ideas about cake decorating. She wanted to decorate her cake herself and made it a team effort with Lovie.  She was very proud of the finished product and learned that piping icing isn't as easy as it looks! For her party, friends went ice skating then came back to our house for food and cake! This guy we referred to as "Cat Man" skated around with his cat and at time with hold the cat under its front legs just above the ice and let it sway as he skated! The cat did not seem to mind...it sure did catch our attention! Pierced ears mean fun earrings! Aunt Lexie definitely picked fun ones with these rubber chickens! So many people love this sweet girl and showed up to celebrate her!
