County Antrim

We had an amazing breakfast looking out on the bay. We enjoyed this hotel so much and wished we could hang around longer.
We did go for a walk on the beach to hunt for sea glass.

It was cold but very lovely watching the sea and seeing this quiet village in the early morning.

Our next stop was Dunluce castle ruins. This was really interesting for learning about the clans and how quickly posession of your castle could change. Clan chieftan with a castle one day and booted out by a mercenary soldier the next. Life was tough.

Their views of the sea (and potential invading enemies) were beautiful.

Our next stop was the Bushmills whiskey distillery. Our guide was really informative and the kids were more interested in the tour than I expected. Of course, they couldn't really partake of the whiskey, but they learned a lot! Who knew Kentucky bourbon barrels are shipped to Ireland to use in aging whiskey!

This was quite good and smooth. We picked upa couple of bottles to bring back and enjoy.

This was all in the morning! We had lunch in a cute cafe with fantastic cakes and treats! The owner was super nice. Charlie panicked when he couldn't get the bathroom door unlocked and she was very kind saying it has happened before and quickly got him out!
