Zoo Trip

We spent a super-fun afternoon at the zoo! We hadn't been in a long time and it was a lot of fun to see the animals and remind the kids of how much they loved the zoo as toddlers.
We enjoyed the new elephant enclosure and the chance to sit and watch Sarah Graves' favorite animal!

They were out and about giving us a lot to look at!

The giraffes were too! They looked so majestic munching on leaves.

We spent a lot of time walking through the slimy critters area checking out turtles, snakes, and some other reptiles.

The kids wanted to pose with the statue of Willie B. Charlie says gorillas are his favorite animal. The ones in the enclosure were kind of far away taking naps!

They were still happy to climb in the giant bird's nest!

Charlie has a red panda stuffed animal he loves called Red Red, so we had to spend time watching this guy climb all over his area.

Had to check out the pandas!

The playground used to be the focal point of their zoo experience, but we realized how much they have grown as they looked at how small the equipment is for them! The end of an era...

The actual lions are three brothers born at the zoo and they lazily napped every time we went by. Charlie found this status much more entertaining!

We made another pass by the giraffes and elephants before leaving so that we could watch them a little longer.

We had such a good time! After a lot of weeks of only work, school, and softball it felt good to get out and do something just for fun together.
