Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving at the lake with our team! Actually, it is usually just the 8 of us for Thanksgiving, so this didn't feel any different.

Mom and Dad took the kids to the lake on Monday and we came later on Wednesday after work. They had a way better time with Lovie and Pops! They found a Christmas event open with Christmas lights, super slides, and ice skating! The kids had a blast!

We celebrated Pops' birthday!

Sissy and Lovie baked Grancy's chocolate pie! Sis loves having her own recipe book where she writes down her favorite recipes.

Sissy was also the helper on baking the other pies! They baked brownie, pecan, pumpkin, and apple pies.

Thanksgiving Day was pretty low key. We had so many pies that we decided to start enjoying them at breakfast! The kids were super into building their version of escape rooms. They built them for the parents and for each other. So, we put together more of a scavenger hunt for them, but they had a great time going through the clues!

After lunch, we went outside to enjoy the gorgeous weather and sunshine. We took some fun pics to remember the day.

The kids put together what was the best play they have ever done for us. It was about the worst Thanksgiving because they didn't get a turkey, but it turned out to be the best Thanksgiving because of the fun they had together. Pretty proud that they could understand that it is people not what you have that makes things special.

My silly guy!

My equally silly girl!

The kids enjoyed learning how to skip stones on the water. Who knew it was so difficult to do?

We spent the rest of the weekend just hanging around. It was really relaxing to be there.

So thankful to have an awesome family - a family that likes being together and can enjoy life, even when the world is crazy.
